Häufig gestellte Fragen zu Hvar

Is Hvar worth visiting?

Yes. Hvar offers a rare combination of lavender fields, polished harbor dining, Pakleni Islands for boat trips, and Croatia's best nightlife outside Split. The town's 13th-century fortress provides one of the most photographed viewpoints on the coast.

How do you get to Hvar?

The fastest route is a catamaran from Split to Hvar Town (about 1 hour). Jadrolinija also runs a car ferry from Split to Stari Grad (2 hours), which is useful if you want to explore the island by car. In summer, catamarans also connect Hvar to Dubrovnik, Brač, and Korčula.

How expensive is Hvar?

Hvar is one of Croatia's pricier destinations, especially in July–August. Expect to pay 20–40% more than Split for similar accommodation and dining. Shoulder season (June, September) offers significantly better value while keeping nearly the same weather.
